EPHEA Mentee? Apply for a grant to attend the 2024 EPHEA Conference

The Equity Practitioners in Higher Education Australasia (EPHEA) invites current and former mentees of the EPHEA Mentoring Program to apply for a bursary to attend the upcoming EPHEA Conference in November.

This bursary aims to support practitioners in equity within higher education by recognising their impact and encouraging them to further their personal and professional development.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible to apply for the grant, applicants must:​

  1. Employment Status: Must be employed at an Australian or New Zealand Higher Education institution.

  2. Engagement: Must be actively engaged in the mentoring program and involved in student or staff-facing equity initiatives, practice, and/or research.

  3. Have confirmation from their employer that they are willing to cover the other costs associated with mentee attendance at the 2024 EPHEA Conference.

Please note, grant funding must be used to directly support your attendance at the conference.
E.g. cover the cost of your conference ticket, or be used for travel and accommodation costs.

Assessment Criteria

Applicants are required to submit the following documents:

  • Completed application form: include personal and professional details.

  • Statement of impact: a 250-word statement detailing the mentoring program experience and equity initiative(s) you are involved in and the impact of your work on equity cohorts.

  • Endorsement letter: a letter from your institution supporting your application, confirming your engagement in equity initiatives and stating their support to cover other costs associated with your conference attendance.

  • Resume/CV: a current resume or CV highlighting relevant experience and achievements in the field of equity.
